AIR TRANSAT PILOTS

FOR A MODERN CONTRACT

The Air Transat Master Executive Council (MEC), of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), represents more than 700 Air Transat pilots. The pilot group is now negotiating a new contract.

The current contract, which dates back from 2015, has been extended three times to help the company during the Air Canada buying offer, COVID, and the operations’ restart after COVID.

In return, it is now time for the company to recognize the efforts the pilot group has put all those years to bring us forward with an industry standard contract.

OUR MISSION

ENSURING AIR TRANSAT IS A CAREER DESTINATION

Air Transat Pilots are the driving force behind every safe, reliable, and enjoyable journey. As we navigate contract negotiations with our management, our mission remains clear: we are committed to advocating for a better future for our pilots and passengers alike.

With a focus on fair compensation, job security, and improved working conditions, we stand united in our belief that our pilots deserve a contract that reflects their dedication and contributions to the airline, thus making Air Transat a career destination.

ABOUT THE MASTER EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

THE EXODUS

Air Transat is facing an alarming rate of pilot attrition, with junior First Officers and experienced aviators leaving the airline for better opportunities elsewhere. The reasons are clear: poor job security, and compensation packages that fail to match industry standards.

Since June 2021, Air Transat hired 299 pilots and 180 left the carrier.

This exodus not only strains the remaining pilots but also threatens the airline’s ability to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards. Air Transat must address these issues immediately to stem the loss of talent and restore confidence among its pilot group. As of September 2025, Air Transat has 741 pilots.
